Update on Hubert!

We got a great update from Hubert's new family! Here is what they had to say.

"I wanted to say thank you to everyone at the HTHNBR, we really had a wonderful adoption experience - we've adopted HUBERT, who is part Husky, part Basset Hound - his mother Georgia has recently been adopted too, which we were happy to hear about!! Well, we are having a great time with Hubert, he's a special dog with an awesome personality - the pictures say it all - he's adjusting well, teething (but we found some great teething toys at PETCO), he's doing well with his house training, eating like a champ and playing hard - we absolutely love him and want to thank everyone at the rescue for their hard work and giving these dogs great foster homes until they find their "fur ever" home!!!"

Phantom/Emiko Had Cataract Surgery

Click to enlargeHere is what his new parents had to say:

"We wanted to update you on Phantom post-op. He's doing well and is currently resting easy (he had a pain pill 1-hr ago). Dr Corcoran said the surgery went well. He is moving around fairly well (trotted on a brief walk this evening) but is getting used to having the cone on (e-collar) so he bumps the cone into door jams. Attached is a photo from tonight. We're bringing him in tomorrow for his first check-up and Dr Corcoran will clean his eyes and show us how to maintain them (tonight and tomorrow he's just getting drops and antibiotics). So far so good - keep your fingers crossed! Thanks for all your support and best wishes!

Best,

Henry & Katrina

PS - In typical happy-go-lucky Phantom style, when he first walked into the room at Dr Corcoran's office and saw me, he wagged his tail, came over and leaned against my legs and plopped on his side for a tummy rub. He's such a great dog!!"

We are thrilled to hear that Phamton is doing so well. Thanks to his new family and his doctor for taking such great care of him, and thanks to everyone who contributed to help with his surgery!

Update on Georgia

Update on Georgia - she is really adjusting well to her new home. At first she just stayed in one spot and seemed to be afraid. We think she was an outdoor dog all her life before she came into rescue. At first the resident dog Magic was a little jealous of the new dog, but the family has worked very hard to ease the transition and things have really improved.

Here are Magic and Georgia (now named Georgie) getting along just fine.

Congratulations Georgie on finding such a great home!
