Yoji's First Week in His New Home

Click to enlargeYoji was adopted last weekend! We got an update from his new owner, here is what he had to say.

"Here are some pictures of Yoji and Sheba and a little report on them.Saturday night Yoji was a little aloof but I expected that. He and Sheba did play a few times for about 20 minutes each time but Yoji mostly wanted to check out everything in this new place he was in. He did make several rounds around the house and yard sniffing everything out and becoming familiar with his new home. He had no problems going the bed and crashed pretty hard. We all did, It was a pretty long day for all of us I think.

Sunday the 3 of us spent most of the day out in the back yard. Yoji and Sheba hadClick to enlarge several play sessions with a few naps in between. Yoji has made several inspections of the yard and seems to be pretty comfortable with the place. He did stand up at the fence a few times, mostly when a passerby was walking by or an animal was nearby in the neighbors yard but showed no signs of a desire to escape, just curiosity. He seems to be warming up to me a little more. He got a good 20 minute petting in the evening and a brushing also. He seemed to enjoy both. After the evening meal they played very rigorously. Lots of wrestling around and full tilt runs chasing each other around. Yoji is bigger and stronger then Sheba but I think she might be just a little more quiker and agile. Neither one of them seems to dominate the other. They both have some stronger traits then each other but they seem to balance each other out well.

Yoji does seem to have staked a claim under my computer desk. He likes to lay there when he's not playing or when I'm working on the computer.

Monday was Yoji's first day alone while I was at work. I did not crate him for day( very risky, I know) because I wanted to see how he would do. He was very good , didnt chew anything up or make any messes. He does seem to be very well housebroken. He does try to nose in the trash but does stop as soon as I tell him no. He was very excited to see me when I got home, lots of tail waggin and husky yippes. I do notice him approaching me for petts now. He layed beside at bedtime for some petting and then curled up my feet and went to sleep.

Tuesday was pretty much the same. He was good in the house all day and very excited today when I got home.Lots more playing and very rigorous after they eat.He is chilling under my desk now as I write.

I'ld like to thank you for a very wonderful Husky. He and Sheba have hit it off very well together and I've noticed that he's pretty affectionate when calm. He seems to like to be close to me and put his head right in my lap and gets his ears rubbed. Well thats about it for now. More pictures and letters will come to you. Thanks again!"

What a great update - congratulations Yoji!
